Swim Team old

Join the Swim & Dive Team and experience waves of fun, excitement, camaraderie and team spirit! Northwest is very proud of its teams, especially the positive attitudes displayed by swimmers, parents and coaches. Your children will value the skills learned and forever hold many fond memories of being on the summer swim team. We have a new head coach this year, Melanie Richards. Melanie swam for NWSC growing up. She has been an assistant coach for five years for the team. She is an enthusiastic, experienced, in-water coach.

Choosing between our COSA team or our GCSL team. COSA is like Jr. Varsity, a developmental team where new swimmers get the opportunity to become stronger swimmers in a low-key atmosphere before stepping up to GCSL, the competitive team. However, COSA is not the place to learn the basic strokes from scratch. Breast, Back and Butterfly strokes are best learned through the pool lesson program. If your child cannot do these strokes, we suggest more lessons Porpoise or higher before or along with, team participation. Don’t miss out on having a great time! See you at Open House

The Booster Club is separate from Northwest Swim club. Its sole purpose is to support the swim team with the coaches’ guidance as a PTA would help a school. All functions of the Booster Club are made possible by volunteer parents. The Booster Club is responsible for helping conduct meets, banquets, and other social functions. The Team Fees generate money for part of the coaching pay, plus training equipment, league dues, awards, fun days, senior breakfast, the end of season banquet and everything that helps make our program special. Look for an opportunity and jump in. Each of us must “promote and support the team spirit and the pursuit of excellence” by filling a volunteer role. Each swim team family is required to fill a position at the three swim meets this season as well as provide a food donation for the bake sale at each home meet (see links below). You will find this time around the pool is a great way to meet new friends and learn about the sport. Thanks in advance for jumping in!!!
