Open Positions

All positions are seasonal, with some flexibility in the number of hours. Non-members may qualify for free pool use, members for a discount on their dues. Feel free to ask questions or fill out the employment application (link in picture above) and send to our General Manager. We are looking for responsible applicants who can apply on their own. When parents contact us for their children, it does not put their child’s application in the best light.

Northwest is rich in tradition and a member owned facility of 900 families, lead by a Board of Trustees and the General Manager. The pool surface area is over 16,000 sq ft with a volume of about 650,000 gallons.  

 

Position Descriptions


 

Lifeguard

Join a fun, well trained team of lifeguards at the best private club. Most are high school or college age, but there is a need for part-time older adults to fill in when school is in session so we can continue to keep the pool open for our members. Qualified applicants would ensure the health and safety of pool participants through careful observation of the pool and surrounding areas, quick responses to emergency situations, and enforcing the pool rules. Other various duties may be assigned by the pool manager. Northwest will reimburse for required certifications, Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid Training. Availability to commit to minimum or 30 hrs/wk is preferred. Part-time positions also available. Pay ranges from $10-$13/hr.

Full-Time Asst Pool Manager

Are you a Leader? A new management position is opening to specifically focus on staff training and organization. Being part of the management team requires maturity and a sincere commitment to the members of NWSC. Skills should include customer service, and leadership, knowledge of safety, pool regulations, filtration and water chemistry. Candidate should have a current Lifeguard Training certification, or willing to immediately take a class. Other certifications are helpful. For 2021, we are specifically looking for someone certified as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor. Earning potential for the season is $13,000+. Additional spring clean up hours are available. Please attach a resume to your application.   Part-time pool management also needed. Various pay and hours.

Safety Monitor

Under direction of the pool managers, this candidate will help in maintaining a Covid-safe environment, as well as acting as a slide monitor on “Jaws.” These duties will include enforcing all pool rules throughout the facility while adding an extra set of eyes to aid the guards in their duties. Hours are approximately 15/week with the pay starting at $8.70/hr. Candidates must be 14 years of age.

Swim Instructors & Aides

Provide instruction for various levels of swim classes with various ages of participants. Successful instructor candidates should hold Red Cross WSI Certifications. Classes meet weekdays 10:30am-noon, and 6:30-7:15pm for 2 weeks/session. There are 4 sessions/summer. Instructor pay is up to $18.75/hr.

Swim Aides help instructors with their classes. Aides must be at least 13 years of age and is a volunteer position. They should be capable of swimming at Shark level or above.

Office Worker

Under the direction of the Office Manger, office workers are responsible for providing friendly service at the front desk. They will ensure professionalism to to pool members and guests while greeting members, taking payments, assisting with rentals, making announcements over the loudspeaker, and answering phones. Various other duties may be assigned by the pool managers. Hours are approximately 20/week with the pay ranging $9 – $11. Candidates must be 16 years of age.
